BIOSOA >> Biogenic Influences on
Oxidants and Secondary Organic Aerosol:
theoretical, laboratory and modelling investigations

The BIOSOA project combines laboratory, theoretical and modeling investigations aiming to understand the chemistry and quantify the role of biogenic volatile organic compounds in the atmosphere. It is conducted by four scientific teams having complementary expertise in this research field. BIOSOA has a duration of 4 years, starting in 2011, and is supported by The Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (Belspo) under the theme "Polar Research, Climate and Atmosphere" of the "Science for a Sustainable Development (SSD)" Research Programme. It is a continuation of previous activities conducted by IASB-BIRA, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and Universiteit Antwerpen within the frame of Belspo's IBOOT and BIOSOL programmes.
